CO2 Laser Resurfacing
CO2 Laser resurfacing treatment is a dermatological procedure designed to treat a variety of skin conditions. This includes wrinkles, fine lines, scars including acne scarring, moles, raised birthmarks, rhinophyma, warts, uneven pigmentation, and precancerous or benign lesions on the skin, lips, or genitals.
The term "ablative" refers to the removal or destruction of tissue. Ablative CO2 lasers function by intentionally injuring the skin, eliminating the thin outer layer of skin (epidermis), and heating the underlying skin (dermis) which stimulate the growth of new collagen.
The number of required treatments varies based on the type of lesion, on the individual treatment targets and expectations.
